Cannabis Compound Stops Lung Cancer in Its Tracks: Study Shows CBD Shrinks Tumors by Cutting Off Their 'Food Supply' and Stem Cell Power!

This Study's Focus: For the first time, researchers looked at inhaling CBD to treat lung cancer, focusing on whether it could reduce cancer stem cells and stop blood vessel growth in tumors. The Experiment: Human lung cancer cells (NCI H1437) were planted in mice. Mice were given either inhaled CBD or a placebo. Results: CBD inhalation slowed down tumor growth. It reduced markers for cancer stem cells (CD44) and angiogenesis (VEGF, P-selectin). Conclusion: Inhaled CBD seems to fight lung cancer by reducing cancer stem cells and inhibiting the tumor's ability to create new blood vessels. Source

The researchers aren't sure how THC stops tumors from growing, but they think it might be doing a few things: Stopping Cell Division: THC could be turning on certain molecules in the body that stop cancer cells from multiplying. Blocking Blood Vessel Growth: They also think THC might be preventing the formation of new blood vessels that feed the tumor, which is how cancers often grow bigger. By messing with this process, THC might slow down or stop the cancer from expanding. Source
