Cannabis and cancer: unveiling the potential of a green ally in breast, colorectal, and prostate cancer
Breast Cancer (BC): BC cells have cannabinoid receptors. Studies in living organisms show cannabinoids can kill cancer cells, stop them from growing or spreading. In mice with BC, THC and another cannabinoid slowed tumor growth. Colorectal Cancer (CRC): CBD can reduce the survival of CRC cells that resist chemotherapy and stop cancer spread by blocking a specific receptor (GPR55). CBD also has effects that reduce new blood vessel growth to tumors and reduces inflammation. Prostate Cancer (PC): PC cells have lots of cannabinoid receptors. Cannabinoids can block the release of tiny particles that help cancer grow and spread. They also can stop cancer cells from growing, invading, and moving, while promoting cell death and stopping the cell cycle. Source
