Does weed mess with your cancer treatment? New study on marijuana and immunotherapy might surprise you.

Researchers studied if cannabis affects the immune system in patients with different diseases. They focused on patients using immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), a cancer therapy. No major changes were found in important immune system markers, including those related to how ICIs function. This implies cannabis likely doesn’t disrupt ICI effectiveness. Cannabis Users May Fare Better After Heart Attacks, 20-Year Study Suggests

Cannabis users had a lower chance of experiencing cardiogenic shock (a life-threatening condition where the heart can't pump enough blood). They were less likely to have an acute ischaemic stroke (a type of stroke caused by blocked blood flow to the brain). They had a reduced risk of cardiac arrest (when the heart suddenly stops beating). They were less likely to need PCI (a procedure to open blocked heart arteries, often called angioplasty). They had a lower risk of dying while in the hospital. Source
