Could CBD Revolutionize Breast Cancer Treatment? New Injectable Implant Shrinks Aggressive Tumors by 60%

What did the 10-CB-ISFI implant do? It stopped TNBC cancer cells (MDA-MB-231 and 4T1) from growing and spreading. It reduced blood vessel growth (antiangiogenic effect) in a lab test, with 80% inhibition compared to 60% for CBD in liquid form.

In a lab model (using chicken embryos), it shrank tumors by about 60%, matching the effect of daily CBD doses. Why is this promising? The implant delivers CBD directly to the tumor, offering a one-time treatment with effects similar to daily CBD doses. Source

New study shows cannabinol boosts exemestane’s power against ER+ breast cancer, slashing tumor growth in lab tests!

How It Works: CBN with Exe was better than Exe alone at stopping the production of aromatase (a protein that helps cancer grow). It also balanced estrogen receptor (ERα) and androgen receptor (AR) activity, preventing cancer-friendly changes. Comparison: CBN with Exe outperformed Exe alone and showed different effects compared to a previous study with cannabidiol (CBD) and Exe, suggesting unique ways cannabinoids work. Big Picture: This study supports cannabinoids as potential anti-cancer tools, especially as add-ons to existing treatments, and calls for more research to understand their full benefits. Source

Study reveals CBD-rich extracts, especially with CBC, kill head and neck cancer cells with powerful synergy.

Cannabis plant variety: Different types of Cannabis sativa plants (called chemovars) have unique chemical makeups, which can affect cancer cells differently. Study focus: Researchers tested 24 cannabis extracts from three main chemovar types to see how they affect head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), a type of cancer.

Key finding: Extracts high in Cannabidiol (CBD), especially "type III decarboxylated" ones, were the most effective at killing cancer cells. Star performer: One extract, called CAN296, was the best at causing cancer cell death by triggering cell suicide (apoptosis) and slowing cell growth (anti-proliferative effects). Main ingredient: The CBD in CAN296 was the primary reason for its cancer-killing power.

Teamwork effect: Combining CBD with small amounts of either cannabichromene (CBC) or tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) made the extract even more effective, mimicking the full power of the original extract. Best combo: Mixing CBD with CBC or THC in a 2:1 ratio maximized the cancer-killing effect. Source

'Medical cannabis gave me my life back and allowed me to be a father again'

Neil said: “I was on 30 pills a day, Tramadol, Amitriptyline and Buspirone, just to make the pain bearable. And even then, there were days I couldn’t move. I couldn’t be a father. I couldn’t be me.

“I never had a day without pain. It was so relentless, I didn’t see a way out.”

“However, he says that following a legal medical cannabis prescription through Alternaleaf, he now has his life back again and is hoping to spread awareness to others about its benefits.” Source
