Does Consuming Cannabis Harm Your Heart? Surprising Study on Veterans with Heart Disease Says No!
No link found between cannabis use and heart attacks, strokes, or deaths. Smoking cannabis in the last 30 days didn’t increase the risk of heart attacks, strokes, or heart-related deaths compared to those who didn’t smoke. Using cannabis in any form (smoking, vaping, or edibles) also didn’t increase the risk of these heart problems. Source
Could CBD Be a Game-Changer for Kids with Tough-to-Treat Epilepsy? Study Shows 73% of Kids Had Fewer Seizures and Better Social Skills!
What were the results? 11 out of 15 kids had fewer seizures:7 were “responders” (seizures dropped by more than 50%), with 2 becoming seizure-free. 5 were “partial responders” (seizures dropped by 30–50%). 11 kids also showed better social skills and were more engaged with their surroundings, based on a scale called Clinical Global Impression. Can Cannabis Ease MS Muscle Stiffness? Study Shows 39% Improvement in Symptoms!
Overall, cannabis treatments improved muscle stiffness significantly. Different measurement tools showed different levels of improvement, but all suggested cannabis helped. Longer-term use of cannabis showed bigger improvements compared to short-term use. Source
Breakthrough Hope for Rett Syndrome! New study shows a low-THC cannabis extract, significantly boosts communication, mood, and quality of life in girls with RTT.
"Rett babies typically develop normally in the first few months of life, but their growth typically begins to lag between 6 and 18 months. Initial symptoms include problems sitting and walking, lack of interest in toys, abnormal hand movements, and speech difficulties." Results: Overall Improvement: The girls showed noticeable improvement in their condition (CGI-I score, p=0.028). Specific Improvements: Better communication skills (p=0.003). Increased mental alertness (p=0.033). Improved socializing and eye contact (p=0.0004). Better attentiveness (p=0.001). Reduced anxiety (p=0.004). Symptom Severity: Symptoms became less severe (CGI-S, p=0.008). Behavior: Improvements in mood (p=0.0003), breathing issues (p=0.041), repetitive face movements (p=0.004), and fear/anxiety (p=0.006) based on RSBQ. Communication: Girls got better at expressing choices (p=0.041). Disability & Quality of Life: Better cognition (thinking skills, p=0.027) and overall quality of life (p=0.0002). Caregiver Stress: Caregivers reported less burden (p=0.006). Source
Medical Cannabis Boosts Quality of Life!
Study of 3,148 patients shows significant improvements in pain, mood, and daily function that last over time. Patients reported better quality of life after starting medical cannabis. Improvements were seen in all 8 areas of the SF-36 survey, like less pain, better mood, and improved ability to do daily activities. These improvements mostly stayed consistent over time. Source
