Cannabis Compounds Crush Superbug! Study reveals CBN obliterates MRSA biofilms!
All cannabinoids stopped MRSA growth at low doses (1-2 µg/mL). CBN was the best: it strongly reduced biofilm and killed bacteria by increasing harmful oxygen molecules inside them. CBD was the least effective at reducing biofilm but caused the most damage to bacterial cell walls. Source
Possible Breakthrough in Breast Cancer Treatment! Folate-chitosan nanoparticles supercharge CBD delivery
Compared to regular CBD, the nanoparticles:Increased harmful molecules (ROS) in cancer cells, which helps kill them. Caused more cancer cells to die (apoptosis). Stopped cancer cells from spreading (migration). Source
Could CBD Stop Cancer Spread?
They can: Slow down cancer cell growth. Trigger cancer cell death (apoptosis). Reduce cancer cell movement and spread. Influence the environment around tumors, especially immune cells. Source
Cannabis Extracts block bad cholesterol damage & foam cell buildup in lab tests, hitting multiple steps to slow artery-clogging disease.
What did they find? All three cannabis extracts helped in these ways: Stopped LDL oxidation: They prevented “bad cholesterol” (LDL) from getting damaged by copper ions, which is a key step in plaque formation. Reduced foam cell formation: They stopped immune cells (J774 cells) from turning into “foam cells” (cells that gobble up damaged LDL and contribute to plaques). Lowered inflammation: They reduced inflammation signals in cells, which normally worsen plaque buildup. How did the extracts work? They didn’t rely on the usual cannabis receptors (CB1 and CB2) in the body. Instead, they worked through other receptors (TRPV1, TRPV4, GPR55) that control calcium signals in cells. They reduced the levels of two proteins (CD36 and OLR1) that help cells take in damaged LDL, so less harmful LDL got absorbed. They blocked a pathway (NFκB) that triggers inflammation when LDL is damaged. Source
New study shows lab-grown Cannabis sativa roots produce powerful anti-inflammatory compounds that calm immune responses
It lowered the activity of molecules on dendritic cells that trigger immune responses. It reduced the cells' ability to present antigens (substances that activate the immune system). It calmed down two important signaling pathways (MAPK and NF-κB) that cause inflammation. It stopped T cells (a type of immune cell) from multiplying and getting activated. Why this matters:Lab-grown hemp roots could be a reliable way to produce compounds that fight inflammation. These compounds could be used in medicines or health supplements to treat inflammatory diseases. Source
