Cannabis extract SMASHES breast cancer cells! Triggers self-destruction + blocks spread in aggressive MDA-MB-231 & MCF-7 lines!
Main findings — what the cannabis extract actually did:
Killed cancer cells — It caused a significant number of the cancer cells to die, and the effect got stronger with higher doses.
It took about 75–79 μg/mL concentration to kill half the cancer cells (this is called the IC50 value — a measure of potency).
Pushed cancer cells to self-destruct (a process called apoptosis):
Turned up proteins that trigger cell suicide (like p53 and caspases)
Turned down the cells' natural antioxidant defenses (SOD and GSH), which made the cancer cells more vulnerable
Helped stop cancer from spreading (reduced invasion and migration):
Lowered levels of enzymes (MMP-1 and MMP-9) that help cancer cells break through tissue and travel
Reduced TGF-β, a substance that often helps cancer spread
The extract contained known cannabis compounds like cannabidiol (CBD) and related molecules (terpenoids, steroids, etc.). Source
Groundbreaking new study just dropped: CBD (cannabidiol) could be a game-changer against colorectal cancer!
Researchers discovered CBD blocks a key protein team-up (CDC123-eIF2γ) that drives bowel cancer — triggering massive cell stress and making cancer cells self-destruct (apoptosis).
Scientists created a new, more accurate tool (called SDPP) to discover exactly which proteins natural compounds (like those from plants) target in the body. Using this tool on CBD (the non-psychoactive cannabis compound), they found it blocks two proteins (CDC123 and eIF2γ) from teaming up.
This blockage triggers long-lasting cell stress, causing colorectal cancer cells to self-destruct (apoptosis).
Key point: CDC123 drives colorectal cancer and high levels predict poor outcomes — so CBD disrupting it could be a promising, selective new treatment approach. Source

New review unlocks CBD's hidden power against cancer!
Inhibits proliferation — Slows or stops cancer cell growth.
Induces apoptosis — Triggers programmed cell death in cancer cells.
Prevents metastasis — Reduces the ability of cancer cells to invade and spread.
Modulates the tumor microenvironment — Enhances immune responses and reduces inflammation that can support tumor growth.
These effects have been observed across various cancer types, including breast (especially triple-negative), lung, glioma, prostate, ovarian, and more. Source
New study shows CBD dramatically improves memory & thinking problems after traumatic brain injury by blocking cell-damaging stress & death!
What they found — the main benefit:
CBD helps protect brain cells (neurons) and improves thinking/memory problems after brain injury by:Reducing harmful "oxidative stress" (basically cell-damaging rust-like chemical reactions)
Stopping brain cells from dying (apoptosis/programmed cell death)
How CBD actually works (the key discovery):
CBD sticks directly to a protein called SET inside brain cells.
This binding causes SET to change shape slightly and get "stuck" in the cytoplasm (the main body of the cell) instead of moving into the nucleus (cell control center). Source
Breakthrough for Nighttime Tossers & Turners: Is CBN the Sleep Game-Changer Medical Cannabis Patients Have Been Waiting For?
In a rigorously designed, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study (the highest level of scientific evidence), researchers tested 20 mg of cannabinol (CBN)—a non-psychoactive cannabis compound—on adults with self-reported poor sleep. The results?
Fewer nighttime awakenings: Participants on 20 mg CBN woke up significantly less often compared to placebo.
Reduced overall sleep disturbances: Less restlessness and interruptions led to noticeably calmer nights.
Promising boost in sleep quality: A strong trend toward better overall sleep (just shy of full statistical significance—but clinically meaningful for many).
Best part: ZERO daytime grogginess or fatigue—no next-day hangover! Source
Medical Cannabis Linked to Less Pain, Better Sleep & Life Quality in Fibromyalgia
Less overall fibromyalgia pain and fewer tender/painful spots across the body
Reduced anxiety levels (a huge win for the mental health side of fibro)
Better, more restorative sleep — no more endless nights
Improved day-to-day quality of life — more energy, more ability to do the things that matter. Source
Kids with PANS saw OCD, tics & anxiety PLUMMET after 12 weeks of special cannabis oil!
PANS is a condition in children where serious obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) symptoms.
Overall severity of illness dropped significantly (from "markedly ill" to "moderately ill")
Much better emotional regulation / anxiety & mood
Big reduction in obsessive-compulsive (OCD) symptoms
Major decrease in tics (sudden movements or sounds)
Noticeable improvement in ADHD-type symptoms
Better overall quality of life Source
