  • Triggering cancer cells to self-destruct (apoptosis).

  • Activating a process where cells "eat" damaged parts (autophagy).

  • Stopping cancer cells from dividing at certain stages (cell cycle arrest).

  • Slowing or stopping cancer cell growth (anti-proliferation). Preventing new blood vessels from forming to feed tumors (anti-angiogenesis).

  • Blocking cancer from spreading to other parts of the body (anti-metastasis).

  • How well they work depends on:

  • The type of cancer

  • The dose and form of the cannabinoid

  • How many “docking spots” (receptors) the cancer cells have for the cannabinoid

    Cannabinoids can fight cancer on their own or make regular chemotherapy drugs work better. They do this by plugging into different receptors in the body and messing with the biological “switches” that cancer uses to grow, spread, and survive.

  • CBN, a lesser-known cannabinoid that comes from the breakdown of THC (the main psychoactive part of cannabis) — has several positive effects:

  • it acts as an antioxidant (helps protect cells from damage), reduces inflammation, relieves pain, and fights certain bacteria.

  • Key findings:

  • CBN did not harm the cells or kill them at any of the tested doses — the cells stayed healthy and alive.Instead,

  • CBN triggered helpful changes: it strongly influenced genes related to how cells handle stress and how nerves adapt, grow, and form connections (neuroplasticity).

The NIH reports: Cannabis Extracts block bad cholesterol damage & foam cell buildup to slow artery-clogging disease!

  • All three cannabis extracts helped in these ways:

    Stopped LDL oxidation:

  • They prevented “bad cholesterol” (LDL) from getting damaged by copper ions, which is a key step in plaque formation.

    Reduced foam cell formation:

  • They stopped immune cells (J774 cells) from turning into “foam cells” (cells that gobble up damaged LDL and contribute to plaques). Lowered inflammation:

  • They reduced inflammation signals in cells, which normally worsen plaque buildup.

  • More and more proof shows cannabis and cannabinoids have real medical benefits, particularly for pain relief, which could extend to treating migraines and headaches.

  • The field of cannabis medicine is growing fast, with better rules and standards for how it's grown and produced.

  • Key findings — before cannabis use (baseline):

  • Older adults had lower levels of: AEA (anandamide — often called the "bliss molecule"), DEA, LEA (compared to midlife adults).

  • Key findings — after cannabis use:

  • Cannabis caused a big increase in most of the natural endocannabinoids (AEA, DEA, LEA, PEA, SEA, and OEA) in all age groups.For AEA and DEA specifically, the increase was even larger in the older adults compared to younger and midlife groups (the boost was stronger in older people).

PubMed reports: Low-dose CBD turns immune 'killer cells' into pancreatic cancer assassins!

  • A special type of immune cell called cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells — which are powerful cancer-killing (cytotoxic) immune cells grown in the lab from a patient's blood — have particularly high levels of CB2 receptors

  • .CBD significantly reduced the survival/viability of the PANC-1 cancer cells — most likely by boosting the cancer-killing power of the CIK cells.

  • Even a low dose of pure CBD is enough to make CIK cells more effective at attacking cancer cells.
