A PubMed study reports: Adult cannabis users show NO brain deficits in impulse control or cannabis cue reactions vs non-users!

  • Main findings:

  • No real differences between users and non-users:

  • They performed about the same on the self-control and attention tests.

  • Their brain activity patterns looked very similar during the tasks.

  • Even when looking deeper (e.g., does heavier use link to worse performance or different brain signals?), nothing significant showed up after accounting for other factors.

  • Conclusions:

  • In these regular cannabis users, there was no sign of:Weaker self-control/impulse control.Extra attention pulled toward cannabis cues. Altered function in the front parts of the brain that handle control and decisions. This suggests cannabis use may not cause noticeable problems in these brain functions or behaviors.

Another PubMed study finds: Cannabis compounds may help kill aggressive brain tumors!

  • Glioblastoma (often called GBM) is one of the most aggressive and fastest-growing types of brain cancer that starts in the brain (primary tumor) and mainly affects adults.

  • When cannabinoids activate these receptors, they can:Slow down or stop cancer cells from multiplying (reduce proliferation).

  • Make it harder for cancer cells to spread/invade nearby tissue.

  • Cause cancer cells to change shape (morphological changes).

  • Trigger autophagy — a natural "self-cleaning" process where cells break down and recycle their own damaged parts.

This study shows: CBC + CBD combo SHRINKS drug-resistant triple-negative breast tumors!

  • In lab dishes (in vitro tests) using resistant TNBC cells (from the MDA-MB-231 line):The CBC + CBD combo killed cancer cells much more effectively than either one alone (they worked together synergistically).

  • It stopped cancer cells from growing by trapping them in a resting phase (G0/G1 cell cycle arrest).

  • It cut the cells' ability to invade and spread by about 55% in an invasion test.

Another PubMed study shows: How CBD helps fight liver cancer!

  • Kills cancer cells: CBD triggers cell death (apoptosis) and a specific type of cell death called pyroptosis.

  • Controls cell cleanup: It regulates autophagy, a process where cells clean up damaged parts.

  • Stops cancer spread: CBD reduces the ability of cancer to spread (metastasis).

  • Changes tumor environment: It affects the area around the tumor to make it less supportive of cancer growth.

  • Blocks cancer signals: CBD shuts down pathways (like PI3K/AKT/mTOR) that help cancer grow.

  • Boosts other drugs: CBD makes chemotherapy drugs (like sorafenib and cabozantinib) work better.

This PubMed study shows: Cannabis Shows Promise in Battling Lung Disease!

  • Several types of lung and immune cells were found to have receptors for cannabis compounds.

  • Using certain cannabis substances slowed down the growth of both lung tissue and immune cells after 5 days.

  • These substances altered protein levels: Increased TGF-β1 and TNF-α, which can affect inflammation and healing.

  • Decreased IL-8, which is involved in inflammation. The usual blockers for these receptors didn't work as expected, suggesting there might be an unconventional pathway at play.

  • One specific cannabis compound decreased the production of collagen type I in cells from patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, which is significant in lung scarring.

Science Direct reports: CBD's Secret Weapon Against Anxiety & Depression!

  • Reducing depression symptoms (antidepressant)

  • Reducing anxiety (anxiolytic)

  • Protecting brain cells (neuroprotective)Helping with psychosis symptoms (antipsychotic)
